Rancho yorba homeowner’s association

Dear RYHOA Homeowner,

WELCOME

The Board of Directors of the Rancho Yorba Homeowners Association would like to extend a warm welcome to our beautiful community.  We are very fortunate to live in such a culturally diverse, fascinating area filled with natural wonders and a wide variety of services and amenities suited for families of all walks of life.  At the crossroads of the Santa Ana Canyon Road and Imperial Highway, we feel we are at the center of Anaheim Hills activities. To coin a present day phrase, “This is where it’s all happening.”

CITY HISTORY

Anaheim is the oldest and second largest city in Orange County.  It was settled by German immigrants in 1857.  The City’s name is a composition of “Ana” from the nearby Santa Ana river and “heim,” German for home.  Anaheim, the “home by the river” as it was named by the early German settlers, was once part of a Yorba Spanish Land grant.

The community of Anaheim Hills was once known as the Nohl Ranch and was used as pasture and grazing land.  Over 30 years ago Anaheim Hills was a rural, residential area with no street lights and a two lane country road.  Imperial Highway did not go beyond Santa Ana Canyon road and until recently did not go over the hill beyond Nohl Ranch Road.  Anaheim Hills began development with planned communities in 1972, after the community was annexed by the City of Anaheim.   Rancho Yorba HOA was an early development of the Yorba family in 1972.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

New homeowners may have a number of questions.  Some pertain to personal information about your home (i.e., who pays the water bill, trash bill electrical bill, etc.). or where is the closest post office, market, hospital, shopping centers or restaurants etc.?).  Hopefully this welcome package can answer some of these questions.

Anaheim Public Utilities is a publicly-owned, not-for-profit electric and water utility that is responsible for delivering high quality, economical electric and water utility services to residents and businesses in the City of Anaheim.
